LAUNDRY SCHEDULE EXAMPLE

This is an example of how I create our laundry schedules, usually I will do this for each of the costume shops as they have different shows and different needs. These schedules are important to keeping our laundry clean and safe, as many of these garments cannot be washed too often. There are also descriptions of what should be washed daily and how. Depending on the event the costumes will also come with laundry care sheets.

PIECES LIST WITH LAUNDRY CARE

This is an example of the types of pieces lists I tend to use at Kings Dominion, this is a multi use document that includes photos of the costumes, pieces, notes, and laundry care instructions. I will also use this document as a ordering checklist if we are re-mounting the show from a previous. year. Once the show opent this piece list is given to the dresser to use.

build details example

This document is what I use to put down any notes about our current or future build projects. I use this as a checklist and a place to put important notes, such as seam allowance additions, stitching notes, and build order. These documents change depending on the needs of the project and whether or not the project is being draped, I will also use this document to bring to design meetings as a way to show the designer/manager my ideas on construction and materials. These documents will also be given to any first hand or cutter/draper that is working on a project, our shops have specific needs and ways that we create and alter costumes, so having a document with important info on how the costume should be constructed is important in keeping mistakes to a minimum and maximizing out efficiency.

Tech Notes Example

This is an example of the template I use to take tech notes, usually this file is operated on Google Sheets so that I can invite the designer, the shop managers, and the wardrobe supervisors to view the tech notes in real time as I am taking them. This paperwork is categorized and organized by type and priority and is essential keeping tech week organized for me.

Budget/dressing list example

This is one example of how I have budgeted for a show, incorporating the budget and dressing list into one document is helpful when I am designing on my own with no assistance. This paperwork was created in Microsoft Excel and is used to keep track of the budget, where an item can be purchased, and if the item was purchased.

Dressing list/Character scene breakdown example

This paperwork is an example of a dressing list for a large scale show with many ensemble members. This paperwork was created in Microsoft Excel and is an organized list of the items each character is wearing and what scene they are wearing them in. This paperwork is helpful for the wardrobe supervisors when organizing quick changes.

DRESSING LIST/RENTAL TRACKING

This paperwork is another example of a dressing list, however this example includes photos of the actors in their costumes, rental tracking information, and a space for laundry care information. This paperwork was made in Google Sheets and is digitally shared with the wardrobe supervisor for real time viewing of changes and for them to edit the care information.
